C
I completed four years of formal counselling training in June 2011, and I hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling awarded by the CPCAB. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which is the body which regulates the work of counsellors and psychotherapists.
Throughout my life, my work has always involved close contact with people in various settings. I have spent periods of time running a small but busy newsagents and general store; working in the public sector with carers, the sick, the unemployed and pensioners; working with homeless people who are trying to turn their life around; working with people with mental health issues; working with people with learning disabilities. My voluntary work has included several years involved in community work with individuals and families.
In my counselling work, I have worked with clients presenting with a number of issues, including anxiety, depression, bereavement, addictions, mental health problems, anger, relationship problems, gender issues, low confidence, to name a few. Over the years, I have worked voluntarily at Richmond House Mental Health Centre in Penzance and at Blue Lotus Therapy Centre in Redruth. I now work mainly in Penzance town centre, right near the train and bus stations and one of the main car parks. I also work occasionally in Goldsithney if that is more convenient.

- Justice - equal opportunity, respect for all, no matter what issues you may bring to the counselling room.

If you decide to continue, we will make an agreement between us, which ensures that your privacy is protected, and that we are both committed to working together. You may wish to agree a specific number of sessions, or you may wish to take it session by session.
